François Leleux

What would you ask François Leleux?

In these difficult times we hope that all of you and your families are well.

We are trying to arrange some things for these days can be a little nicer. From EG-REEDS we have the opportunity to do an interview with the world-renowned oboist François Leleux.

We want this interview to be more collaborative than ever and we would like you to participate by leaving us your question at the end of this post where it says “Leave a Reply” and we will make a selection of the best or most repeated questions to include in our interview.

Available until tomorrow March 21, 2020 at 12:00.

Do you have any advice for playing in tune and playing with a good tone quality? And do you have any advice about transitioning between fingerings and embouchure/playing endurance?

What material do you use for your reeds (shape, final/initial lenght, gouge, etc)? And how do you deal with reeds’ changements while you travel around the world?

  3. Adelina Garfield

How do you play high and low notes without squeaking? My teacher tells me that I’m using “lazy air” and need to use faster air. I don’t know what to do and how to improve this.

What advice would you give for people who are studying oboe in order to become professionnal musicians? And any advice about reeds? (And finding the best material for oneself)
